Russia. The great land of fairy tales, vodka, severe politics and dolls inside dolls inside dolls. I was in St Petersburg for 2 days and these are the pictures that destiny allowed me to take.

Russians put stuff like this on their buildings.

This modern day couple were on fire. Majestic. Stylish. Proud.

This emblem on the front of a large luxury sedan was one of the first things I saw upon arriving in St Petersburg. It sums up the Russian attitude to driving quite accurately I think.

‘This wee fellow is supposed to bring luck when dealing with the police in Russia. ‘When they pull you over they will no ask you for money.’ It’s not fool proof.

‘I’ve been running into sphinxes lately. This is a particularly gothic interpretation.’

This is a statue of a famous Russian.

I liked this kid’s style. The misfits bag and the short shorts.
